Angela Bassett became the first artist to win a Globe in an acting category for their work in a Marvel movie on Tuesday night in Los Angeles when she won the Golden Globe for best supporting actress in a film for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
Bassett collected the award for her portrayal as Queen Ramonda in the “Black Panther” sequel, which was notable for the absence of the late Chadwick Boseman, who played the eponymous character.

Bassett discussed the passing of Boseman and how the “Wakanda Forever” cast and crew came together in her acceptance speech.
She remarked, “We grieved, we loved, we healed, and we were surrounded by the light and the spirit of Chadwick Boseman every single day.
“We take delight in knowing that with this historic ‘Black Panther’ series, it is part of his legacy he helped lead us to, we showed the world what black unity, leadership, and love looks like beyond, behind, and in front of the camera,” the spokesperson continued.
Marvel fans were thanked for “embracing these characters and showing us so much love” in a separate speech she gave to them.
