Joao Cancelo, a fullback for Manchester City, has now been loaned to Bayern Munich.
The 28-year-old signs on for the remainder of the campaign with the option to sign on indefinitely for 70 million euros (£61.5 million) in the summer.
Cancelo said during a news conference that his choice was influenced by the recent lack of playing time.
The Portugal international played 98 times in the Premier League after moving from Juventus to City in 2019.
Cancelo continued, “There were rumors that my relationship with Pep [Guardiola] wasn’t the best, but the truth is I wanted to play more.
In February 2022, he agreed to a new five-year contract with the Premier League champions, extending his stay at Etihad Stadium until 2027.
