If you are feeling the need for speed, a radar detector may be what you need.  Although speeding around on the highways in search of a tornado or blasting down a road for a good thunderstorm picture is not condoned.  In fact, speeding around the roads and highways will put you and other drivers in more danger than storm chasing in general. 

Please take this into consideration before purchasing a radar detector.  If you are being chased by a tornado, and you need to get out of the way (learn to position yourself with the storm!), I don't think the local police will pull you over to write out a traffic ticket!!

I am not going to go into detail about radar detectors here,... you are on your own.  Keep one thing in mind, you get what you pay for!!
